Pakistani delegation visits Anadolu Agency headquarters

Areas of renewing cooperation discussed with Associated Press of Pakistan

ANKARA (AA) - An official delegation from the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) news agency paid a visit to Anadolu Agency headquarters in Ankara on Friday.

The delegation, chaired by Executive Director Sohail Ali Khan, was greeted by Anadolu Agency's deputy director-general and editor-in-chief, Metin Mutanoglu, and foreign languages department director, Mehmet Ozturk.

Officials from the two news agencies discussed renewing cooperation.

Mutanoglu described the people of Turkey and Pakistan as being close and said he was "pleased" about the cooperation.

Mutanoglu briefed Khan on Anadolu Agency’s international operations and its News Academy, which was established in 2011.

The academy holds frequent seminars and provides a number of training programs including the "War Journalism Certificate Program".

Pakistan Ministry of Information Joint Secretary Zahoor Barlas, Pakistan's Ankara Embassy Press Attache Abdul Akbar and Anadolu Agency International News Editor-in-Chief Faruk Tokat also attended the meeting.

Anadolu Agency has 1,694 subscribers from 45 countries and broadcasts news in 11 languages.
