Pakistani PM offers condolences to Turkey

Pakistanis consider attacks on Turkey as attacks on Pakistan, Sharif tells Erdogan

By Ismail Ozdemir

ISTANBUL (AA) - Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offered his condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday following terror attacks in Istanbul and Izmir, according to a presidential source.

In a telephone call, Sharif told Erdogan Pakistanis feel the pain of Turks. “They consider attacks on Turkey as attacks on Pakistan,” the Pakistani premier told the president, the source said.

Sunday’s terror attack on Istanbul's nightclub claimed 39 lives and injured more than 60 others. A gun-and-bomb terrorist attack on Thursday also killed two officials in western Izmir province

Erdogan thanked Sharif for his sensitivity over the attacks and added that Turkey remained determined in its fight against terrorism.
