RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul-Gheit in Ramallah.
During the meeting, Abbas underlined the importance of joint coordination between the Palestinian leadership and pan-Arab body with a view to protecting Palestinian rights, according to the official Wafa news agency.
Abul-Gheit arrived in Ramallah on Wednesday to attend the opening of a museum dedicated to the life of iconic Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, 12 years after his death.
The $7-million museum -- which is located at the Ramallah complex where Arafat spent his last days under an Israeli siege -- traces the life of the Palestinian leader.
On Nov. 11, 2004, Arafat died in France -- under highly suspicious circumstances -- at the age of 75. The exact cause of his death have yet to be determined.
