Palestinian security forces detain freelancer

Khebisa works as a freelance journalist for Anadolu Agency based in the West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Palestinian security forces detained early Tuesday freelance journalist Mohamed Abdullah Khebisa from his home in the West Bank town of al-Bireh near Ramallah, according to his wife.

Hanaa Khalaf, Khebisa’s wife, told Anadolu Agency that security forces detained her husband, who works as a freelancer for the agency, after midnight and confiscated their laptops and some papers.

Khalaf said she was interrogated by security forces about her husband’s work and sources of their income without specifying why Khebisa was detained.

There has been no comment yet from Palestinian authorities on the journalist’s detention.
