JERUSALEM (AA) - A Palestinian sustained injuries late Tuesday after being shot by Israeli forces, who claimed he threw Molotov cocktails at Israeli vehicles in the southern occupied West Bank.
Israeli Army Radio said Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian who threw incendiary bottles at Israeli vehicles near the Gush Etzion settlement north of the city of Hebron.
It added that the Palestinian, whose name was not disclosed, was transferred to a hospital in Jerusalem for treatment, without giving further details.
In recent years, many Palestinians have been killed or wounded by Israeli soldiers at Israeli-controlled checkpoints for allegedly planning attacks.
Palestinian and Israeli rights groups, however, deny the Israeli claims, saying the Palestinians were shot without posing any threat to Israeli soldiers.
