RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) – Scores of Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli troops that erupted Saturday at the Amari refugee camp near the West Bank city of Ramallah.

In a statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent said one young man had been shot with live ammunition, while 22 others had been struck by rubber-coated bullets.

On Friday, an Israeli military force demolished the home of a Palestinian family inside the camp, sparking fierce confrontations with local residents and leading to a number of injuries.

The Israeli authorities, for their part, have since closed all entrances into Ramallah and the nearby town of Al-Bireh.
