ISTANBUL (AA) – A passenger ship carrying 267 people collided with a rocky islet in southwest South Korea on Wednesday, the Korea JoongAng Daily reported.
The ship, which was carrying 267 people, collided with a rock islet near Jindo Island late Wednesday, prompting Coast Guard authorities to launch an immediate rescue operation, officials said.
The vessel, en route to the southern city of Mokpo, left Jeju Island at 4.40 pm (0740GMT) on Wednesday.
There were no casualties reported at the time of writing this report.
