Hawks to face Cavaliers for playoff berth after dominant win over Hornets

ANKARA (AA) - The New Orleans Pelicans progressed in the NBA Play-In Tournament by beating the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

CJ McCollum scored 32 points, Brandon Ingram dropped 27, and Jonas Valanciunas finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Pelicans to a 113-103 victory.

Devin Vassell had 23 points and Dejounte Murray scored 16 for the Spurs.

The Pelicans will face the Los Angeles Clippers for a shot at the eighth playoff spot.

Over in Atlanta, Trae Young led the offensive with 24 points and 11 assists as the Hawks romped to a massive 132-103 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hawks will face the Cleveland Cavaliers next on their path to booking a playoff berth.
