ANKARA (AA) - Peruth Chemutai from Uganda won gold in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday.
She became the first female Olympic gold medalist for her country in a time of 9:01.45 at Olympic Stadium.
Courtney Frerichs of the US sealed silver in 9:04.79 and Hyvin Kiyeng of Kenya secured the bronze in 9:05.39.
