SIRNAK, Turkey (AA) - A roadside bombing by the PKK terrorist organization killed a road construction worker and wounded two others in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak, security sources said on Monday.
The bomb exploded when a car carrying construction workers was passing through the Beytussebab district, leaving three people injured, said the source who asked not to be named due to restriction on speaking to media.
Valid Youssef, a Syrian national, succumbed to his wounds at the Sirnak Public Hospital.
Two more injured persons, identified as Yasar Cetin and Ferhat Oncu, are being treated in the hospital. Cetin is said to be in a critical state.
An operation to nab the terrorists is under way in the region.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
