ANKARA (AA) – One of the two PKK terrorists who carried out a deadly attack on a police station in southern Türkiye disguised as a journalist, according to a high-level AK Party official's Twitter post sharing on Tuesday.
A police officer was killed and another wounded in Monday night’s attack in Mersin’s Mezitli district, which was carried out by two women, both members of the PKK terror group.
One of them was identified as Dilsah Ercan, codenamed Zozan Tolan, who was part of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization since 2013.
She was the one who was included in a report by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), AK Party Deputy Chairman Hamza Dag said in a social media post.
Ercan was trained by the PKK in Iraq’s northern Qandil region and became a part of the terrorist group’s so-called special forces.
Both her and the other unidentified attacker took their own lives during Monday’s attack, detonating explosives hidden in their backpacks once they were cornered and had no way to escape.
