ANKARA (AA) - A total of 16 people were injured early Monday when an IL-18 military plane with 39 aboard crash landed in Russia's Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, Russia’s Defense Ministry said.
"All the passengers and crew members are alive," the ministry said, as quoted by the official Tass News Agency.
Among the 39 people, 32 were passengers and seven were crew members.
The ministry said the incident occurred at 4.45 a.m. local time Monday (1945GMT Sunday), 30 kilometers from Tiksi airport.
It also said injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, it added.
