ANKARA (AA) – Poland reported 626 more coronavirus deaths and 22,464 new cases on Friday.

The country’s overall caseload now stands at 819,262, including 12,714 fatalities and some 381,800 recoveries, according to health authorities.

Some 22,643 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized in the country, with 2,135 of them on ventilators.

Despite the stricter safety measures enforced last month, infections and fatalities have surged in Poland over recent days.

Across the country, working hours of public places such as shopping malls, hotels, cinemas, and museums have been limited, while restaurants and cafes are only allowed to provide delivery services.

Educational institutes have also reverted to online classes.

Children under the age of 16 are only allowed outside between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and must be accompanied by an adult.
