Police at scene as man threatens to blow himself up at Iran’s Consulate in Paris: Report

Service on nearby metro line also interrupted as part of security measures, says French radio

GENEVA (AA) - A man, who threatened to blow himself up, is currently holed up in a building of the Iranian Consulate in Paris, French radio channel Europe 1 reported on Friday.

According to the report, police cordoned off the consulate as the man, who is wearing an explosive belt, threatened to activate it.

Service was also interrupted on a nearby metro line as part of security measures.

The individual's motivation remains unknown at this stage, and investigators are also looking to determine whether the explosive belt is genuine.
