DOHA, Qatar (AA) - Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Sunday left an annual Arab summit in Tunisia after attending opening sitting.

According to Qatar’s official QNA News Agency, Tamim wished the meeting would yield results in favor of Arab communities.

Tamim thanked Tunisia’s President Beji Caid Essebsi in a telegram for his hospitality during his stay in Tunisia.

According to the local media in Tunisia, Tamim’s early leave was scheduled before the summit.

Tamim did not attend the last Arab summit in Riyadh last year following the eruption of the Gulf crisis when Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt all abruptly severed ties with Doha in mid-2017, accusing it of supporting terrorist groups.
