DOHA (AA) – Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Thursday received a personal letter from his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
According to the official Qatari News Agency (QNA), the letter concerned bilateral relations and “issues of joint concern”.
Hafiz Mohamed al-Ajmi, Kuwait’s ambassador to Qatar, transmitted the letter to the Qatari prime minister at a Thursday meeting, QNA reported without providing further details.
Since mid-2017, Kuwait has attempted to mediate between Qatar and a four-nation bloc led by Saudi Arabia that accuses Doha of supporting terrorist groups -- allegations Qatar denies.
