DOHA (AA) - Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Tuesday discussed regional developments with U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo, Qatar’s official QNA news agency has reported.
The Qatari FM is currently on an official visit to Washington the duration of which has not been made public.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the two men reportedly discussed bilateral relations and the ongoing crisis in inter-Arab relations pitting Qatar against a four-nation bloc led by Saudi Arabia.
Last summer, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain collectively severed ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism -- claims Doha vehemently denies.
Despite several months of Kuwaiti mediation, the diplomatic crisis has yet to be resolved.
Washington’s and Qatar’s top diplomats also reportedly discussed the dire humanitarian situations in Yemen, Libya, Palestine and Syria.
