GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - A Qatari official on Friday arrived in Gaza for talks regarding de-escalation between Palestinian factions and Israel and to follow up Doha-funded projects.

Mohamed al-Amadi, head of the Qatari commission for reconstruction of Gaza, arrived in the enclave through the Erez border crossing on the Israeli Gaza barrier, according to an Anadolu Agency correspondent.

The visit coincides with the weekly demonstrations held in Gaza known as the Great March of Return.

Protesters are expected to mark the 50th anniversary of the Al-Aqsa mosque arson attack by extremist Australian tourist Denis Michael Rohan.
