Qatari, Somali leaders speak by phone

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed discuss bilateral relations, latest developments in Somalia

ISTANBUL (AA) – Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed spoke over the phone Wednesday.

According to the Qatari state news agency QNA, Al Thani and Mohamed discussed bilateral relations and prospects for enhancing them as well as the latest developments in Somalia.

Somalia, which has yet to recover from the effects of the civil war that erupted following the collapse of the central government in 1991, continues to have good relations with Qatar, especially in political and economic fields.
