Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris SG one step closer to domestic title

Real Madrid came back to beat Sevilla 3-2, Bayern Munich get past Arminia Bielefeld with 3-0, while PSG beat Marseille 2-1

ANKARA (AA) - Weekend matches in Europe saw competitive clashes, including a comeback from La Liga leaders Real Madrid against Sevilla and Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain beating second-place Marseille 2-1.

Real Madrid are the leaders of the Spanish La Liga with 75 points while German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have 72 points. Manchester City, who have two missing games, lead English Premier League table with 74 points, while AC Milan placed first in Italian Serie A with 71 points and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continues to lead Ligue 1 with 74 points.


- English Premier League:

Manchester City and Liverpool, the two top candidates of the championship race in the Premier League, could not participate in the league games as they faced each other in the English FA Cup semi-finals at the weekend. The victorious side was won this match was Liverpool, who defeated their opponent 3-2 and made it to the final.

Among the teams working to get a Champions League quota, only Manchester United finished the week with a win, while Tottenham and Arsenal both defeated.

Manchester United beat Norwich City 3-2, with Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick, while Tottenham lost to Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 and Arsenal defeated by Southampton 1-0.

In the end of week 33, Manchester City with 74 points (two games missing) is followed by Liverpool with 73 points (two games missing), Chelsea with 62 points (three games missing) and Tottenham with 57 points (one game missing).


- Spanish La Liga:

Real Madrid passed the week 32 without flop on the road to the Spanish La Liga championship by beating Sevilla 3-2 away.

Atletico Madrid defeated Espanyol with a score of 2-1, while Barcelona, who became a force to reckon with in the league after bringing former player Xavi Hernandez to the position of head coach, will host Cadiz on Monday.

Real Madrid are the leaders in La Liga with 75 points, followed by Barcelona (two games missing), Sevilla and Atletico Madrid with 60 points each.


- Italian Serie A:

In the week 33 of the Italian Serie A, where there is great struggle for the top spot of the standings, Milan defeated Genoa 2-0.

Inter passed Spezia with a score of 3-1, while Juventus drew 1-1 with Bologna at home and stayed behind in the summit race.

The other team chasing the championship, Napoli, will host Roma on Monday.

In Serie A, where AC Milan with 71 points is at the top, Inter is second with 69 points, Napoli is third with 66 points and Juventus is fourth with 63 points.


- German Bundesliga:

Bayern Munich, the reigning champion of the last 9 years in the German Bundesliga, kept their leadership in the standings by beating Arminia Bielefeld 3-0 away.

The closest follower of the leaders, Borussia Dortmund, got a 6-1 home victory against Wolfsburg. Leipzig defeated Bayer Leverkusen away with a score of 1-0.

At the end of the 30th week in the league, Bayern Munich with 72 points, who maintained the 9-point gap with Borussia Dortmund in the second place. Leipzig with 54 points and Bayer Leverkusen with 52 points remained in the top four in the league.


- French Ligue 1:

At the end of the week 32 of the French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), top favorite for the title, get past Olympique Marseille with a score of 2-1.

Rennes lost 3-2 to Monaco at home, while Lille defeated by Lens 2-1 at home.

PSG continue to lead Ligue 1 with 74 points, while Olympic Marseille are placed second with 59 points and third Rennes has 56 points. The reigning champions Lille dropped to 9th place with 48 points.
