ANKARA (AA) - Real Madrid beat Getafe 1-0 on Thursday to seize the advantage in the race for this season's Spanish La Liga title against Barcelona, their nearest rival in the standings.
Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid’s Spanish captain, scored the winning goal with a penalty kick in the 79th minute of the week 33 match.
League leaders Real Madrid boosted their points to 74 in the standings, expanding the point gap to four against second-place Barcelona.
La Liga will conclude in five weeks.
