Serbian club set to play against Turkish team Trabzonspor in UEFA Europa League

ANKARA (AA) - Crvena zvezda's (Red Star Belgrade) head coach Dejan Stankovic has resigned, the Serbian club announced on Friday.

Milos Milojevic has been appointed as the new coach.

"My decision to leave is meant to show my gratitude and my best wishes for Zvezda. Thank you for the wonderful times at Marakana," Stankovic said on the official Twitter account of the club.

The former Inter Milan player added: "I believe that years of success are ahead of the club. My whole heart will forever stay with the club because Zvezda is life."

Stankovic, 43, bagged three consecutive Serbian SuperLiga titles between 2020 and 2022 with Crvena zvezda.

He resigned on the day his team was set to play against Turkish team Trabzonspor in Group H of the UEFA Europa League.
