BEIRUT (AA) – Resigned Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived in France on Saturday coming from Saudi Arabia.
Hariri is set to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macaron at the Elysee Palace later on Saturday, according to his Future television.
Macaron said Friday that he would receive Hariri in his capacity as Lebanon’s prime minister.
On Nov. 4, Hariri abruptly announced his resignation during a televised address from Saudi Arabia, citing a plot to assassinate him.
His resignation, however, has yet to be accepted by Lebanese President Michel Aoun, amid allegations that he was being held by Riyadh.
Earlier this week, Hariri has denied the allegations, saying that he would return to Beirut “soon”.
