Road crash kills 8 Syrian nationals in southern Turkey

Incident in Hatay province leaves 18 other people injured

HATAY, Turkey (AA) – At least eight Syrian people were killed and 18 others wounded Friday in a traffic accident in southern Turkey.

The accident occurred when a minibus travelling in the Yayladagi district of Turkey's southern Hatay province crashed after a tire burst.

District mayor Mehmet Kalkan told reporters the 18 injured had been taken to hospital.

Kalkan also said the minibus had been carrying people who had illegally entered Turkey from Syria.
