ANKARA (AA) - Romanian tennis player Simona Halep qualified for the 2019 Wimbledon final in women's singles on Thursday.
World no. 7, Halep beat her Ukrainian opponent Elina Svitolina 2-0 in the semifinals.
Halep, 27, was victorious after winning the sets against Svitolina, 24, 6-1 and 6-3 in one hour and 13 minutes.
Halep will face either U.S. veteran Serena Williams or Czech athlete Barbora Strycova on Saturday in the final.
The 2018 Roland Garros (French Open) champion Halep is yet to win the Wimbledon title in her career.
