MOSCOW (AA) - Russia on Wednesday claimed that its forces captured two villages in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
According to a Defense Ministry statement, the Russian Vostok (East) group of forces captured the village of Voskresenka, while the Southern group of forces took over Petrovka village.
The ministry also claimed Russian forces struck 142 targets, including military airfield infrastructure, drone storage sites, ammunition depots, and Ukrainian troops and mercenary positions.
Two German-made IRIS-T missile launchers and a P-18 aerial detection radar station were destroyed in the strike, it said.
It also claimed that over the past day, Russian air defense systems shot down seven guided aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS rocket, and 103 drones.
Ukraine has yet to comment on Russia's claims, and independent verification is challenging due to the ongoing armed conflict.
