Russia, Ethiopia to strengthen parliamentary cooperation

Moscow reaffirms commitment to strengthening ties with Addis Ababa

ISTANBUL (AA) – Russia and Ethiopia will work to strengthen parliamentary cooperation to ensure the implementation of agreements reached by their leaders, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

Valentina Matviyenko, speaker of the Federation Council, the upper house, held a meeting with Ethiopian counterpart Agegnehu Teshager, and emphasized Moscow’s commitment to deepening ties with Addis Ababa.

“Our leaders maintain regular and substantive dialogue, shaping the agenda for Russia-Ethiopia relations in the near future,” the statement said, highlighting the importance of continued interparliamentary cooperation.

According to Russian state news agency TASS, a delegation led by Matviyenko arrived in the Ethiopian capital for an official visit on Tuesday.
