Russia launches Angara rocket carrying spacecraft for military purposes

Launch from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Arkhangelsk region, says Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (AA) - The Russian Defense Ministry announced Thursday that its space forces launched the Angara-1.2 carrier rocket from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the northern Arkhangelsk region.

"At 12 hours 32 minutes on August 21st, a combat unit of space troops successfully carried out the launch of the light-class Angara-1.2 carrier rocket carrying spacecrafts intended for the Russian Ministry of Defense from the State Testing Cosmodrome of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Defense located in the Arkhangelsk region," it said.

It added that the spacecraft reached the designated positions in orbit.​​​​​​​
