MOSCOW (AA) - Three people were killed and 10 others injured in Ukraine's overnight attack on Russia’s Rostov region, the regional governor said on Thursday.
Yury Slyusar wrote on Telegram that the port of Rostov, as well as the cities of Bataysk and Taganrog, were targeted. "Unfortunately, peaceful people were killed and injured as a result."
In the port, a cargo ship caught fire, killing two crew members on board and injuring three others, he said, adding that the fire was later extinguished.
In Bataysk, two private houses caught fire, injuring seven people. Slyusar said that three of them were taken to the Bataysk Emergency Medical Care Hospital in critical condition, but doctors were unable to save one of them.
Ukraine has yet to comment on Russia's claims, and independent verification is challenging due to the ongoing conflict, which is now approaching the four-year mark.
