MOSCOW (AA) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday that Moscow and Washington held another round of consultations on "eliminating irritants" in bilateral relations.
Speaking in an interview with three Russian state news agencies, Ryabkov said the progress, however, was "minimal."
"I confirm the fact that another round of consultations with the US on 'irritants' has taken place. Progress is minimal. We will continue efforts." he said.
The diplomat specified neither the date nor the place of the talks.
Ryabkov had previously pointed out that Russia regularly engages with the US on the issue of irritants in their relationship through diplomatic channels.
The first and second rounds of consultations dedicated to normalizing the working conditions of Russian and US embassies and discussing ways to overcome irritants in the relationship took place on Feb. 27 and April 10 in Istanbul.
The Russian delegation was led by the current ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, and the American delegation by Acting Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter.
Separately, Russia and the US are also engaged in talks to end the nearly four-year war in Ukraine.
