MOSCOW (AA) - Russia said on Tuesday its forces have recaptured the Gornal Monastery, which has been seized by Ukrainian troops during last August’s incursion into the Kursk region.

According to the Defense Ministry, the operation was conducted by the Sever (North) group of forces.

The ministry also reported launching strikes on targets in Ukraine’s Sumy region, which borders Kursk and is allegedly used by Kyiv to supply its forces operating on Russian territory.

Ukraine has not yet commented on these claims and independent verification remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict.
