CAIRO, Egypt (AA) – Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kirpichenko has died at the age of 68, the country's foreign ministry said Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said the envoy suddenly died Monday morning at a Cairo hospital.
It, however, did not give details about the cause of the death.
Kirpichenko was Russia's ambassador to Egypt since 2011. He was also his country's envoy to the Cairo-based Arab League.
Born in 1951, he also served as top Russian envoy in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Libya and Syria.
