MOSCOW (AA) - Russia announced on Friday that its Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Moscow on Nov. 17.
The top diplomats plan to discuss current and upcoming political contacts, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a press briefing in Moscow.
"On Monday, Nov. 17, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will hold talks with the External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, who will be in Moscow as head of his country's official delegation to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)," she said.
Zakharova said the foreign ministers will discuss current and upcoming political contacts, consider the most important topics of bilateral relations, and coordinate positions on key international and regional issues, including cooperation within the SCO, BRICS, UN and G20.
"Several events are also under preparation, and we will announce the time and format of these events a little later," she said.
The Council of Heads of Government of the SCO members will meet on Nov. 17-18.
