Russian, US intelligence chiefs meet in Moscow

Sergey Naryshkin, William Burns discuss interagency cooperation, fight against terrorism

MOSCOW (AA) - The Russian and US intelligence chiefs met in the Russian capital Moscow on Wednesday, the Russia Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said.

Sergey Naryshkin and William Burns discussed the fight against terrorism and interagency cooperation, the statement said.

"The focus was on issues of interdepartmental cooperation in the context of Russian-American relations with an emphasis on the fight against international terrorism," it said.

The CIA director is on a two-day visit (Nov. 2 and 3) in Russia by order of US President Joe Biden.

On Tuesday, Burns met Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, and the two discussed bilateral relations.
