ISTANBUL (AA) - Rwanda and Turkmenistan have formally established diplomatic relations at an official ceremony at the UN headquarters in New York, according to the Rwandan media.
A joint communique between the two nations was officially signed on Monday by Rwanda’s permanent representative to the UN, Amb. Martin Ngoga, and Turkmenistan’s permanent representative, Amb. Aksoltan Ataeva, the Rwandan media outlet The New Times reported Tuesday.
After the ceremony, Ngoga thanked his Turkmen counterpart and expressed hopes for deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two countries reiterated their dedication to collaborating within the UN framework to tackle common global challenges, including active involvement in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), scheduled for Aug. 5-8 in the western Turkmen region of Awaza.
