ISTANBUL (AA) - The fourth edition of the International Humanitarian Forum kicked off in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Monday.
Organized by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) under the theme: “Navigating the Future of Humanitarian Response," the two-day event sees wide participation from international aid groups.
Samer Al-Jatili, a spokesman for the King Salman Center, said the forum is attended by over 6,000 participants, 150 international organizations, and 300 international representatives.
KSrelief Superviser-General Abdullah Al-Rabeeah called the forum “a new starting point for new horizons for the humanitarian work.
“The forum focuses on humanitarian diplomacy in times of conflict,” he added.
In his opening speech, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said the kingdom offered over $133 billion in aid to over 172 countries worldwide, without giving a timeframe.
“Saudi Arabia has become one of the world’s top donor countries,” he added.
