Attack on Aramco oil facility 'came from north, certainly supported by Iran,' says Saudi Defense Ministry

RIYADH (AA) - Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday it has an evidence for Iran’s involvement in the recent drone attacks on its Aramco oil facilities.

"Iran-made Delta Wing drones participated in the attack on Aramco," Col. Turki al-Maliki, spokesman for the Saudi Defense Ministry, said in a news conference aired by Saudi satellite TV channel Al-Arabiya.

Al-Maliki asserted that the attack "came from north to south and certainly was supported by Iran."

According to the spokesman, the attack was carried out by 25 drones and a cruise missile.

On Saturday, armed drones struck two facilities of Saudi Arabia's oil company Aramco.

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attacks.
