ISTANBUL (AA) - Saudi Arabia on Thursday reiterated its support for the efforts of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS terror group, local media reported.

The statement by the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan came at the ministerial meeting of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, according to the state-run Al-Ekhbariya TV.

"The Kingdom always believes that the way to security, stability, development, and prosperity requires collective efforts to fight terrorism," the foreign minister said, quoted by the same source.

He stressed that Saudi Arabia will continue to support every possible effort to eliminate the Daesh/ISIS terror group and its extensions.

Riyadh is taking part in the reconstruction of the countries, including Iraq and Syria, where the Daesh/ISIS terrorist organization has been active, he added.

The Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS was formed in September 2014 to fight the terror group in Iraq and Syria. The coalition has members from nearly 85 countries and partner organizations.
