DOHA (AA) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Riyadh, for the first time since Hariri’s sudden resignation in November.

The meeting, which was held late Friday, tackled bilateral relations and latest developments in the region, according to the official SPA news agency.

Hariri posted a photo of him with bin Salman along with his brother Prince Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi Ambassador to Washington.

Hariri had held talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abduaziz on Wednesday, shortly after arriving in the oil-rich kingdom for his first visit since he abruptly announced his resignation during a televised speech from Saudi Arabia in November.

Hariri later revoked his resignation amid accusations by Lebanese officials for Saudi Arabia of forcing Hariri to resign.

Saudi Arabia accused Lebanese group Hezbollah, a member of Hariri’s government, of being a proxy force for Shia Iran, an arch foe of the oil-rich kingdom.
