ANKARA (AA) - A search is underway after a light aircraft with two people aboard went missing over Australia's Bass Strait on Saturday, local media reported on Sunday.
The aircraft with a male pilot and a female passenger aboard failed to land at Hillston Airport in New South Wales after departing from George Town, Tasmania, on Saturday, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
The pilot, 70, and his female passenger, 60, are Tasmanian residents.
Search efforts are continuing across areas of Tasmania and Victoria.
