LONDON (AA) - A second person died from novel coronavirus in the U.K. on Thursday, according to local media reports.
The man who was in his 80s had underlying health conditions and died at hospital, daily Milton Keynes Citizen reported.
Other patients on the ward have been isolated and a deep clean has been carried out, the local paper reported while doctors awaited official test results to confirm it was a case of COVID-19.
Hospital staff who nursed the patient have gone into isolation.
The number of cases across the U.K. has jumped to 163 with 47 new cases confirmed by health authorities Friday.
The first victim was an elderly man who died with the deadly strain earlier this week in Berkshire.
