ORDU, Turkey (AA) - A PKK terrorist was “neutralized” by security forces in northeastern Turkey's Ordu province Saturday, the provincial governor said.
According to Irfan Balkanlioglu, the terrorist was killed during a clash between soldiers and the terrorist organization PKK in Haruniye region between Mesudiye and Golkoy districts.
The search for more PKK terrorists continues in the region.
"We are determined. We will cleanse our region from the terrorists," Balkanlioglu added.
The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
