Bomb kills two north of Baghdad, while third is shot dead in southern district of city

BAGHDAD (AA) - At least three civilians were killed Friday in two separate attacks in capital Baghdad, according to a local police source.

"Two people were killed and another four injured when a bomb went off on a road in the Al-Tajiyat area north of Baghdad," Police Captain Nazhan al-Khader told Anadolu Agency.

In a separate incident, al-Khader said, unidentified attackers shot a woman dead in the capital’s southern Al-Mahmudiya district before fleeing the scene.

There has been no claim of responsibility for either attack.

Iraq has suffered a devastating security vacuum since mid-2014, when the Daesh terrorist organization captured the northern city of Mosul and overran much of northern and western Iraq.
