ISTANBUL (AA) - A passenger train operated by Danish State Railways derailed Friday in Southern Jutland, leaving several people injured, authorities said.
The train, bound for Sonderborg, came off the tracks near Tinglev, Danish public broadcaster DR reported.
Local police said on US social media company X that officers and rescue teams were “massively present” at the scene.
“We need peace and quiet at the site, and unauthorized persons must stay away,” police said, adding that several passengers had been hurt.
No details have yet been released on the severity of their injuries.
Rail infrastructure operator Banedanmark confirmed the derailment and said emergency services were working to secure the area.
The railways announced that train service between Tinglev and Sonderborg have been suspended for the rest of the day.
Authorities have not yet provided information on the cause of the accident. An investigation is underway.
