BERLIN (AA) - Several people were injured in a knife attack in Berlin on Tuesday after a man tried to randomly stab people on the sidewalk, according to local media reports.
Two of the injured were taken to hospital, a police spokeswoman said as emergency services were alerted shortly before 12 p.m. to the crime scene. The suspected attacker was arrested, the spokeswoman added.
According to the B.Z. newspaper, several passers-by pounced on the attacker and overwhelmed him as he tried to stab people. Police said there is currently no evidence of a terrorist-motivated attack.
