PARIS (AA) - Several people have been injured after a gunman opened fire at a school in the southern town of Grasse, local police said Thursday.
The police tweeted out a message telling residents to stay indoors while the French government issued a terror attack warning following the incident at Alexis de Tocqueville school.
French broadcaster BFMTV reported the gunman fired at the school principal. He is said to be among those wounded in the attack which occurred at around 1.30 p.m. (1230GMT).
France's RAID special police forces unit were immediately dispatched to the school.
There were unconfirmed reports of one person being arrested.
