ISTANBUL (AA) - Several passengers were injured Thursday when a sudden drop in altitude forced a JetBlue flight to make an emergency landing in the US state of Florida.
The flight, which was traveling from Mexico to New Jersey, landed in the city of Tampa, JetBlue said in a statement seen by ABC News.
Some passengers were reportedly transported to the hospital, while police told air traffic controllers that at least three were injured with possible lacerations.
The pilot informed air traffic control that the injuries resulted from a flight control problem.
The Airbus A320, which was en route to Newark Liberty International Airport, has been grounded as the Federal Aviation Administration and JetBlue launch an investigation.
