BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Police in Slovenian said Wednesday that more than 100 irregular migrants were caught on a train to Italy.
The 103 immigrants who left two asylum centers in Slovenia, were hiding on a train to Italy. They were caught before the train's departed in the capital, Ljubljana, according to a statement.
The immigrants from Cuba, Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Burundi left dismal living conditions in their countries and have been on the road for years in the hope of a better future in a European Union member country.
Meanwhile, Slovenia decided to remove a fence it built on the Croatian border to stop the influx of migrants in 2015.
