OSMANIYE, Turkey (AA) - A soldier, who was critically wounded during a PKK attack in southeastern Sirnak province fifteen days ago, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital in Ankara on Sunday, according to the security sources.
The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the injured soldier was taken to the Gulhane Training and Research Hospital in the capital after he was wounded when the terrorist organization PKK carried out an attack in Sirnak province.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,200 people including women and children.
