ISTANBUL (AA) - A Somali plane carrying 55 passengers overran the runway Tuesday at Mogadishu's Aden Abdulle International Airport, with all occupants safely evacuated, according to authorities.
In a statement on the US social media platform Facebook, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) identified the plane as an F50 aircraft, confirming that all passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.
It said authorities were on site and investigating the cause of the incident, with the agency working with relevant agencies to gather and analyze information.
The SCAA said it would provide further updates as details emerge.
